Aims of course / Course description

Students will acquire basic presentation skills. They will be able to produce a coherent presentation about a chosen topic, using appropriate visuals and body language.

 

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the Presentation Skills course, learners will be able to:

 

  • Start, maintain and end a presentation;
  • Use effective body language;
  • Use effective eye contact and voice;
  • Use appropriate signposting signals;
  • Use non-verbal language;
  • Catch audience attention;
  • Build rapport with the audience;
  • And use intonation to express, for example, interest, ask questions, show emotions, etc.
  • Talk about data and graphs.
  • Answer questions raised by audience;

 

Required materials

Students require:

  • A booklet
  • A paper dictionary
  • Writing implements
  • Smart phone, a laptop, or a tablet (for research purposes)
